Daavi Ama Turns 69; dedicates birthday to the memory of the late Aliu Mahama
Former National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Madam Gifty Ama Asantewaa Ayeh, and popularly called ‘Daavi Ama’ turned 69 on Tuesday, 30th August and celebrated the occasion with family and friends.
Daavi Ama dedicated her birthday to the memory of the late H.E Alhaji Aliu Mahama, the former Vice president who served two terms in former president Kufour’s administration between 2001 and 2009.
Torgbi Subo II of Keta, who is a cousin to Daavi traveled all the way from Keta to grace the occasion with his chieftaincy presence. He described Daavi as an all-round and a generous person.
“The dignitaries that came before I arrived and those that I met signifies that she is all round; she is a person who is not close-fisted; she gives freely and she talks freely and frank,” he remarked and wished God’s blessings and protection for her life in the coming years.
He was accompanied by Hilda Attipoe (sister to Daavi), Michael Yao Mensah (cousin), Joe Kartey Attipoe (brother) and Yao Kwakumey, also a cousin to Daavi.
A couple of big shots within the political sphere especially her party, the NPP of which she is a founding member also passed through to wish her a happy birthday.
Among the several persons who passed through to take a bite of Daavi’s birthday cake included Hajia Rhamatu Mahama, widow of Alhaji Aliu Mahama, former Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpiani, Kwabena Agyepong, John Boadu, Joseph Kabilla of the CPP and many others.
