AFCON 2017: Ghana draw 1-1 with Rwanda

Ghana were held to one all draw by Rwanda in the final qualifying game for Gabon 2017 Africa Cup of Nations at the Accra sports stadium on Saturday, 3rd September, 2016.

The Black Stars, through former West Africa Football Academy youngster Samuel Tetteh took the lead in the 24th minute with a long range shot scoring his first goal for his country on his debut.

Ghana failed to increase their lead despite dominating the game but thanks to goalkeeper Hassan Ndayishimiye of Rwanda who made numerous saves to ensure his country earns a point.

The visitors equalized through their substitute Muhadjiri Hakizimana in the 83rd minute.

Ghana have maintained their unbeaten run in the qualifiers as they finished top of the group with 14 points whiles Amavubis of Rwanda placed second with seven points.
