NDC builds capacity of Upper West Region campaign team

The ruling National Democratic Congress  (NDC ) has held a one day training session for it’s frontliners at the Wa regional Library last Thursday.

Participants at the seminar included Municipal Chief Executives (MCE), foot soldiers, members of the regional campaign team, Communication team among others.

Speaking to the Press, the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the training programme is part of the party’s preparation to  equip its frontliners with relevant skills for an effective campaign messages and strategies to put in place till elections are over.

The General Secretary mentioned that the party was putting in place a three pronged strategy to equip them with skills for the elections which he referred to as a battle.

He hoped that at the end of the work shop, participants will be better prepared to sell the party’s message to the electorate.

The General Secretary added that this was the only way the party will achieve the 79%votes for JDM and 11/11 votes for Parliamentary candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia also called for a peaceful national elections.

“Peace and development are bedmates which cannot be separated,” he added

The Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Amidu Sulemani was happy that the party was very visible in the region.

According to him, the region has benefited from a number of infrastructure development at all levels in education and health.

He mentioned that 31781 households from 474 communities have been on LEAP programme while 411,617 registered on the National Health Insurance Scheme.

He added that about 641 communities have so far benefited from the National Electrification Project.
