The founder and presidential candidate of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has expressed shock over the death of Mrs Eva Lokko, who was his running mate in the 2012 election.

In a Facebook post, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom expressed his shock over the demise of his former running mate and eulogized her.

He has also suspended his campaign and canceled his Saturday’s live broadcast to the nation.

Read his Facebook post  below:

“Eva took strong, principled positions and stuck to them. She was a strong voice, always reminding PPP youth to stick to our message, particularly our stand on incorruptible leadership.

She was against insulting, disrespectful language and made that known to all. The PPP must be different in a positive way, she always said.

“I need to take a break. The scheduled broadcast I was to make to the nation this Saturday cannot happen. I need a few days off. There is more to life than politics.”

Eva Lokko until her death was PPP’s Klottey Korle Parliamentary candidate. She passed away in the United States of America on Thursday, October 6, 2016, where she had been flown for medical treatment.

It is however, not known what led to her death though sources have revealed that she has been sick for some time now.

Eva Lokko was popular for her role at the State Broadcaster, where she became the first woman engineer to be employed.

She holds a master’s degree in Intelligent Management Systems, System Analysis and Design.
