Prez Mahama Promises Oti Region
NDC Flahbearer, John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to the creation of a new region of the Volta Region.
The yet to be created region, he stated will be called OTI Region
According to the President, the process to create the new region, in the Northern part of the Volta Region, will receive great attention in the next government of the NDC.
President Mahama has taken his four days 2016 electioneering campaign to the region where he has already commissioned significant developmental projects undertaken by his government since he took over as President of the Republic.
The NDC had announce the creation of additional five regions in its manifesto launched last month in the BrongAhafo regional Capital, Sunyani.
He noted that a lot of work has been done behind the scene towards the realisation of the split of the Volta Region
The President gave this promise at a well attended rally in Jasikan in the Volta Region.
He told the mammoth rally, which included chiefs and queen mothers from all the traditional areas in the District, that when reelected, he was going to active the needed Constitutional process for the creation of the new region, indicating that apart from the OTI Region, four others will be created throughput the country.
For his part, Nana Opraw Akuamoah Acting Paramount Chief of Buem congratulated the President for the great transformation the District has seen in the last three years
Party stalwarts including General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Campaign Coordinator, Kofi Adams, Campaign Spokesperson, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Communications Minster, Dr Kofi Omane Boamah, Deputy National Organiser, Joshua Akamba were in attendance.
