Sam George Denies Congratulation Nana Akufo-Addo
Presidential Staffer, Sam George has denied congratulating the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo for winning the 2016 presidential race.
According to him, a tweet via his official twitter handle @samgeorgegh conceding defeat to the NPP in the presidential race was fake and that his twitter account was hacked.
In that tweet, Mr. George acknowledged Akufo-Addo as the president elect stating that “too many errors but the legacy of JDM is undoubted. I am humbled to have served you Sir….”
NPP claimed on Thursday that its presidential nominee had won the elections.
According to its National Youth Organiser, Sammy Awuku, out of the 27,577 representing 94.23% of the pink sheets declared at each polling stations and submitted to the NPP’s coalition centre, Akufo-Addo had a “commanding lead of 53.79% to John Mahama’s 44.42%.”
“These translates into 5441642 votes for the NPP’s presidential candidate and 4497477 for the NDC candidate, a clear difference of 944164,” said Mr. Awuku
Also, according to projections by Starr FM and other media houses, the opposition leader has a comfortable lead in the presidential race.
