Achimota School has failed to secure a place at this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz after a humiliating defeat to St. John’s Grammar SHS in the regional contest in Accra.

The two-time winners placed second in a keen contest between St. John Grammar SHS and Accra Girls’ SHS on Thursday, 23rd February, 2017 at Presec-Legon.

At the end of the contest, St. John’s Grammar SHS came first with 38 points, Achimota School followed with 31 points and Accra Girls’ managed with 17 points.

This contest is being organized across the ten regions of Ghana to select participating schools for the 2017 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz competition.

In recent years, Achimota School has struggled to make significant progress at the National Science and Maths quiz competitions.

Last year, it would be recalled that Nifa Senior High School (SHS) from Adumkrom in the Eastern region eliminated Achimota School at the one-eighth stage of the competition.
