IAEA Submits INIR Mission Report To Ghana

Ghana on Wednesday recorded a major headway in its Nuclear Power agenda, when it received the official report of the Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR) Mission through an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegation. The two-member delegation, led by Mr Mikhail Chudakov, the Deputy Director-General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Energy at the IAEA, submitted the report to Mr Boakye Agyarko, Ghana’s Minister of Energy, at a meeting in Accra. The Bank of Ghana has warned the public against the activities of a company it says has been taking cash deposits from people without the proper licensing. According to the Bank, the operations of the company, MMM Ghana, constitute that of a ponzi scheme through a virtual office “hence anyone who does business with MMM Ghana does so at his or her own risk”. Minerals Commission Announces Online Mining Licensing System

The Minerals Commission of Ghana with support from Australian government is developing an online mining licensing system for legal miners as a move to weed out galamsey, according to Isaac Abraham, Head of Public Relations.
