UG Final Year Student Drowns In Swimming Pool

A final year student of the University of Ghana (UG) is reported dead after he drowned in the school’s swimming pool. The incident happened when the 22-year-old level 400 student identified as Dennis Akoto went to the poolside to swim on Saturday, 22nd April, 2017. The deceased was a student of Economics and Information Studies and a resident of Akuafo hall. Reports say he was rushed to the University Hospital after lifeguards and a doctor on duty conducted CPIs on him. He, however, gave his last breath at the hospital notwithstanding all attempts by medical officials to save him. He celebrated his 22nd birthday last Monday. The sad news came as a shock to most of his friends as they knew him to be a good swimmer. Bolga Poly Suspends SRC Accounts Over ‘Questionable’ Cost Of Vehicle

The management of Bolgatanga Polytechnic has temporarily suspended disbursement of funds from the accounts of the Students Representative Council (SRC) for any activity, pending a final resolution of the confusion over the purchase of what has been described as a questionable  Toyota Hiace van by the SRC President, Francis Bugase. Students of the Bolgatanga Polytechnic had set 24th of April to demonstrate over the cost of the vehicle. Scholarship For Ghanaian Students To Study In Russia

The government of the Russian Federation, through the State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM), is offering 10 Scholarship positions in Nuclear Science Programmes to Ghanaian students. Eight (8) positions are in Bachelor Degrees and two (2) in Masters. The scholarship covers tuition fees ($ 3500-$ 6000 per year). There is also a discount on transportation within Russia, food and dormitory.
