EC Media accreditation fee senseless, shameful – Sefa Kayi

Ace broadcaster Kwami Sefa Kayi has described as shameful and senseless the decision by the Electoral Commission to charge the media accreditation fee for the coverage of the December 7, polls. According to the Peace FM Morning show host, the move may obstruct efforts by journalists to report professionally and objectively during the polls. EC spells roles of the Returning Officer in elections

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA – The Electoral Commission (EC) says Returning Officers (RO) are mandated for the conduct and supervision of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in a constituency under the direction of the District Electoral officer and the Commission. The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the inclusion of presidential candidates of the PPP, NDP and PNC after the Commission has carefully reviewed their resubmitted presidential nomination forms. APC’s Hassan Ayariga wins Case against EC

An Accra High Court has ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to give All People’s Congress (APC) Presidential nominee, Hassan Ayariga the opportunity to correct errors on his nomination form. The court presided over by Justice Babara Charway said the EC acted unfairly in disqualifying Mr. Ayariga. Media to pay for accreditation in order to cover 2016 elections

Ghana’s Electoral Commission has announced that, from Monday, October 31, to Monday, November 7, 2016, the EC will accept applications from media houses who are interested in observing the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
