Education on Mining Law to Prevent Forest Destruction Vital – Nana Bosompem

The District Forestry Manager of Atwima Nwabiagya in the Ashanti Region, Nana Opoku Bosompem has called on the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, and other corporate institutions to embark upon vigorous media sensitization on new mining law that was passed in 2015 by parliament in order to minimize the illegal mining operations “galamsey” in the state forest. Tree Fell On GHANASS Students; Killed One, Injured 6 Others

A first year male student of the Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS), Koforidua in the Eastern Region has died, with six others seriously wounded after a tree on their campus fell on them. The deceased, 16-year-old Edmund Amoako according to reports, was sitting under the tree together with other students when the unfortunate incident happened on Saturday, 21st January, 2017.
